The New Wellness Map of Monaco

Monaco’s wellness map has quietly come into its own. Reformer studios with sea views, beachfront gyms, private coaches running their clients along the coastal path at sunrise… For the residents who live here year-round, training has become as much a part of the daily rhythm as the morning espresso or the evening stroll along the port. Here’s where the Principality trains today.

1. THE REFORMER REVOLUTION

In the past three years, Reformer Pilates has gone from niche to non-negotiable in Monaco. Low-impact, posture-focused, designed for long-term mobility – it speaks to a Principality that has always cared about longevity, and to a generation of residents who prefer to train smarter rather than harder.

Prime Estate Picks:

Yumé: A serene, design-led studio in the heart of Monaco. The atmosphere is almost spa-like, and the sessions are calibrated for residents who want real results without losing the sense of escape.

Geko Pilates: Technically just over the border in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, but a fifteen-minute drive that Monaco residents make happily. The view is the reason: arguably the most cinematic Reformer setting on the Riviera.

Pilates Fit Club: Right on Port Hercule, with sweeping views over the harbor and its parade of yachts. Worth booking the early class for the light alone.

2. THE GYMS & MEMBERS’ CLUBS

Beyond Reformer, Monaco offers a tightly curated landscape of fitness spaces – from open-access clubs to some of the most exclusive private addresses on the Riviera.

Fitness Gyms

Fit Factory: Set on Larvotto beach, with an open, light-filled space and a strong community feel. The kind of place where you train, then go straight into the sea for a morning dip.

World Class Fitness Club: The full-service reference: comprehensive equipment, group classes, personal training, and recovery facilities under one roof.

The Forge: One of the most talked-about new arrivals on the Monaco fitness scene. A space offering private training sessions and an extensive group class programme – boxing, in particular, has built a dedicated following here.

Private Members’ Clubs

Monte-Carlo Country Club: The legendary address. Tennis courts above the sea, a full fitness center, and a training culture that has shaped the Riviera for decades. As much an institution as a club.

Yacht Club de Monaco: Fitness with a distinctly maritime soul. Membership here is as much about belonging to Monaco’s seafaring community as it is about training facilities.

Monte-Carlo Beach Club: Seasonally exceptional. The combination of pool, fitness space, and beachfront setting makes it a natural choice for those who treat wellness as part of a broader art of living.

39 Monte-Carlo: A members club that has quickly become one of the most talked-about addresses in the Principality. Closer to a private members’ space than a traditional gym.

3. THE SWIMMING POOLS

For those who prefer their training horizontal, Monaco’s public pools are an underrated asset.

Piscine de Saint-Charles: A well-equipped public pool in a residential setting, popular with locals who prefer lap swimming as part of their morning routine.

Stade Louis II: The Principality’s main sports complex offers serious aquatic facilities alongside its iconic football pitch – a hub for swimmers, athletes, and a busy programme of group aqua classes throughout the week.

4. THE OUTDOOR ROUTES

Perhaps the most distinctive feature of Monaco’s wellness culture is what requires no membership at all. The Principality and its immediate surroundings offer some of the most scenic free training spaces in the region.

Larvotto Promenade: The flat coastal stretch along the beach is a natural circuit for runners, walkers, and anyone who wants their training to come with a sea view.

Digue de Fontvieille: The breakwater in Fontvieille offers an open-air fitness space with stunning views on the Musée Océanographique.

Digue Monaco at Port Hercule: The perfect flat, animated, and centrally located open-air fitness space.

Sentier des douaniers Cap d’Ail: Just beyond the border but deeply woven into Monaco life, the coastal paths here extend the outdoor training options considerably for those interested in a run with coastal views.

4. PRIVATE COACHES & CONCIERGE FITNESS

If there is one form of training that defines Monaco, it is the private coach. The Principality’s density, its discretion, and the prevalence of buildings with private gyms, pools, and spas have made one-to-one coaching a quiet pillar of local life.

Many residents train at home, in their building’s facilities, or outdoors – along the coastal path, in the gardens of Fontvieille, on the Larvotto promenade before the city wakes. The coaches themselves tend to come from elite backgrounds: former athletes, physiotherapists, sports scientists. Programs are personalized, often blending mobility work, nutrition, and recovery alongside strength and conditioning.

For residents with demanding schedules – and for the international clientele who split their year between Monaco and elsewhere – concierge fitness is less a luxury than a natural extension of how the Principality already lives.

LIVING WELL IN MONACO

Choosing to live well in Monaco is, in the end, part of a bigger decision: choosing to live here. That is the conversation we have every day at Prime Estate with clients arriving in the Principality – and it rarely stops at finding the right apartment. Through Prime Family Office, we help structure the financial side of the move; through Prime Law, we handle the residency paperwork and the administrative path to settling in. The home is the start. The life around it is the rest.
